Variously, a textile conservator, furniture designer and acupuncturist, and with a variety of hobbies including website design, right-to-repair, music making, painting and writing, Alex has quite the skill set. Her eclectic fascination with the world has provided her with a myriad of backdrops for her writing endeavours, including Born After Reading which she is hoping to publish at the end of 2022. Born and raised in North London, Quicke never quite got the hang of ultra-urban life and eventually found peace in Carlisle where the pace was more to her liking. She lives with her husband and daughter (their son, flown the nest many years since) and their two cats – Roman and Badger.
