
David Thompson
David Thompson was born and brought up in Consett, County Durham. He moved to London in his early twenties and lived there for 14 years, during which time he made 3 short films and wrote 3 feature-length screenplays. In the late nineties, he moved with his wife and children to Cumbria, where he obtained a degree in English Literature and History at St Martin’s College, Carlisle. He was a founder-member of Treehouse Orchestra Recordings, a music and arts collective based in Carlisle, which has had 80 music releases to date. He writes and records music as part of the bands Old Weird and The Dead West and through his solo project, Cat of Tomorrow, under which persona he has played live in local clubs and bars. He has also written reviews and sleeve notes for many of Treehouse Orchestra’s releases. He lives in Carlisle with his wife and daughter and has a son who lives and works in London.
